How do I know if I need an organizer?

Do you feel like you don’t have enough free time for your family or for leisure activitites? Do you constantly feel overwhelmed, confused, or uncomfortable about your space and just don’t know how or where to start? Are your cupboards or closets so disorganized that everyday tasks are less enjoyable? Is your living room used as a storage space instead of using it to relax? Have toys, appliances, or other broken items piled up and left untouched for long periods? Are the conditions of your home making the simplest of routines difficult? Have you had to buy replacement items because you couldn’t find the item you already own? If you answered yes to several of these questions, Kick the Klutter can help!

How does the process begin?

We will provide a free consultation within a 15 mile radius of the Bismarck and Mandan area. Approximately an hour will be spent with you so we can evaluate your space, discuss organizing concerns, and define goals. We will give you an estimate for the scope of work you are thinking about having us do. The next decision for you would be whether or not to hire Kick the Klutter to help you achieve your goals. If you choose to book a package at the time of the initial consultation, you will receive 10% off the package price. How do I get prepared for your visit? There is no need to clean up in preparation for our appointment. We would rather see your space the way it typically is so, PLEASE DO NOT WORRY! There is nothing to be embarassed about, we are excited to help create new possibilities! 

How does the organization process work?

Work sessions are booked in segments depending on client needs and mutual availability. Each session has a three hour minimum and 8 hour maximum, unless prior arrangements have been made. Prior to the sessions, we identify our goals for the day. As your organizing professional, we manage the tasks to help you divide each space in sections so that we work efficiently and try our best to not leave you “incomplete” at the end of each working section. At the close of the first session, we will determine your homework and the next steps to complete projects as efficiently as possible. For some, work days can be stressful, physically and/or emotionally draining but at the same time can also be very motivational and liberating. If you need a short break, there are always tasks we can work on independently to keep the project moving forward. It is best to use a target date for completion to keep on track.

How long does a typical job take?

It depends on a few factors, such as the size of the space, density of contents, and time of decision-making.  We recommend a consultation to help determine an approximate timeline for the projects completion. Please remember. timelines will need to be somewhat flexible as many situations vary and can influence the amount of time spent in each area. Do I have to participate in the organizing session? It is best if you are able to participate in a portion of the session. This is to be sure that the plan of action for your space is one that is best suited to keep you organized on your own after our services are completed. If you are present to help with making decisions and answering important questions, the process typically goes a lot faster and will be the most beneficial to you. Involvement in the organizing process will help you to better transition into your new environment with ease because you will have assisted in the process. Will a professional organizer make me throw all my “stuff” away? Absolutely not! We will discuss items as we go through each area and will ask questions to help assist you in making those decisions based on your personal goals and needs. You are the final decision-maker as to what stays and what goes. Will my privacy be respected? Of course! Privacy is a very important to all of us. Your trust is important to us and that means we will treat your home with utmost respect and keep your personal information confidential.  Are you insured? Yes.  We make sure that everything you have is handled with care, but sometimes accidents happen. How/when do I pay for your services? We accept personal checks, money orders and cash. Packages can be purchased at the completion of the inital consultation for a discount of 10% off. Once packages are purchased, there are no refunds and you have 6 months from date of purchase to redeem.
